Wow. What a story. What a telling. She reminds me of both my grandmothers. Always simple. An eid or wedding dress up was just as you described your nani doing every year. Nothing fancy.

May Allah swt grant her the highest abode. As you talked about the noor on her face and the fresh flower analogy, my thoughts went to Reem's grandfather, Amo Khaled. The smile he had in death. Or life, in fact.

I say this always but you have a way with story telling. It whisks you away into Narnia. Keep the stories coming!!
